Bayern Munich have reportedly told their defensive targets that they are now pushing ahead with a move for Napoli's Kim Min-jae - news that is of huge benefit to Arsenal. That's because the Gunners are prioritising the acquisition of Ajax's Jurrien Timber and Bayern had been earmarked as Arsenal's biggest rivals in the race for the 22-year-old defender, who now looks headed for north London.
Arsenal have already seen an opening proposal worth £30million rejected by Ajax for Timber but they are expected to try again with a fresh offer in due course.
Ajax value Timber at close to £50m although there are suggestions the player has a release cause that is about to become active.
Nonetheless, RMC Sport in France are reporting that Bayern have already told several of their defensive targets that they are not going to recruit them this summer.
Timber is believed to be one of those players and Arsenal are now understood to be the only club in contention for his signature.

Even when Bayern had been labelled as a club that were actively in the race for the Ajax centre-back it appeared Timber was fully focused on joining Arsenal, who were his priority.
The Holland international is said to have been in England with his family for the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City at Wembley.
It's thought that he then held talks with Arsenal around a similar time in London where the Gunners outlined their desire to sign Timber this summer.
There is confidence a deal can be struck between the parties with talks currently ongoing.
