Manchester United are ‘already negotiating’ a potential deal for Ruben Neves as the summer transfer window creeps closer, according to reports in Spain. Erik ten Hag is keen to bolster his midfield despite Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Marcel Sabitzer all joining the club over the past 12 months. Neves would offer United a different option as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next term.
And a deal could also pave the way for Donny van de Beek to leave, with the Netherlands international failing to shine since moving from Ajax back in 2020.
Speaking last year, meanwhile, former Sunderland and England striker Kevin Phillips expressed a belief Neves would be perfect for United.
“He’s a quality player,” Phillips told Football Insider.
