Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly decide his Manchester United future at the end of the season and when the club’s next permanent manager has been announced. The Portugal international only returned to Old Trafford back in the summer transfer window from Juventus. Yet his second spell at the club has, so far, failed to live up to expectations.
Ronaldo looked as though he’d do the unthinkable by joining Manchester City back in the summer.
However, he ended up returning to United instead after interventions from the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Bruno Fernandes, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand.
Ronaldo’s second spell at United got off to a dream start when he scored twice in a 4-1 win over Newcastle under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But while he’s netted 14 times across all competitions, he’s been unable to prevent his side from failing to challenge for the Premier League title.
Ronaldo has faced criticism over his defensive work this term, while age appears to finally be catching up to the 37-year-old.
And ESPN say there’s currently no guarantee the forward will still be at the club next season.

It’s stated Ronaldo plans to decide on his future at the end of the campaign, when things should become significantly clearer.
By that point, the veteran will know if United will be in the Champions League or the Europa League - or worse still, the UEFA Conference League - next term.
And he’ll also know who the club’s next permanent manager will be, with several names currently in the running.
Rangnick has previously indicated he’d be happy to recommend himself staying on if he feels the United job is right for him.
And there have been rumours that the Glazers are happy with the work the 63-year-old has done since he replaced Solskjaer in early December.
