Election 2024: Liz Truss loses her seat in Norfolk South West

TV presenter and journalist Piers Morgan rushed to social media to share a brutal putdown as former Prime Minster Liz Truss lost her seat in a huge election shock.

Truss lost her South West Norfolk seat by just 630 votes, having previously held a 24,180 majority, sending shockwaves around the room and the channels, as journalists reacted to the news.

This comes as Labour have won the election in a landslide victory, with Tory MPs falling to an all-time low.

Piers was one person who had something to say about the loss, as he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "BREAKING: Former (for 49 painful days) Liz Truss loses her seat. The woman who screwed the country.. gets screwed."

Fans rushed to the post to share their reaction to Piers' cutting comments, as one said: "You are brutal Piers," adding a string of laughing face emojis.

Another added: "That's savage," as a third mused: "Quite a remarkable night. Not entirely a surprise as Labour has dominated the polls over the last few months, but hopefully a humbling result for all parties. Reforms decision to stand in every seat this time clearly influenced the number of people voting Tory."

Piers had posted earlier in the night: "Absolute abattoir-scale bloodbath for the Tories.

This photo sums up their night.. Jacob Rees-Mogg finding out he’s lost his seat while standing next to a bloke in a baked bean balaclava."
