Arteta gives update on Arsenal's transfer plans ahead of Deadline Day
Arsenal have their best chance of finishing in the Premier League top four since the 2018/19 campaign this season. On that occasion, Unai Emery's side fluffed their lines in the closing stages to miss out on Champions League qualification. Mikel Arteta's task is tougher than Emery's and he must add to his squad before Monday's deadline or the top four hopes could soon be over.
Arsenal haven't signed anyone so far in the January transfer window.
They have allowed five first-team players to either leave on loan or permanent deals.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be the sixth player to go but most likely wouldn't feature under Arteta even if he did stay for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal's squad is set to be stretched to the limit for their final 17 Premier League matches.
