Arteta comments on Arsenal transfer plans ahead of January window
Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their interest in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. Reports from Italy claim the Gunners have submitted a player-plus-cash deal in an attempt to sign Vlahovic in this window. Arsenal could soon be in need of recruitment up top due to uncertainties over three first-team strikers.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in the summer, whereas Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is available for sale after being stripped of the captaincy last month.
Vlahovic is one of the top targets for Mikel Arteta and Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Gunners have made their move.
The report says Arsenal have offered £46million plus Lucas Torreira, to take the financial offer to around £58.5m.
Express Sport looks at which shirt number Vlahovic could choose if he does complete a move to the Emirates.

The No 12 is currently free following the exit of Willian last summer.
Olivier Giroud wore the shirt during his six-year spell in north London.
Thierry Henry also wore it during his brief return to the club in 2012.
No 14
If Aubameyang were to leave this month, that would make the No 14 available.
Aubameyang was allowed to join up with the Gabon squad early ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, which suggests Arteta does not see him as part of his plans.

The No 14 was most famously worn by Henry in his first spell at the club.
Theo Walcott also enjoyed success in the jersey so Vlahovic would have big shoes to fill.
No 28
Vlahovic wore the No 28 during his first two years as a Fiorentina player.
However, it has been since he took the No 9 that he has flourished in front of goal.
