Presenter Jeff Stelling wanted to reassure the watching Wolves fans that the intention was not to create a rumour about a potential move to Chelsea for Neves.
Stelling said: "Look, Wolves fans, I know what you're thinking, and I'm thinking the same thing as you. So let's turn it back to Wolves.
However, Merson would clearly like the move to happen, replying: "We're trying to get Wolves' best player to go to Chelsea."
