Chelsea are reportedly now confident that Mason Mount will stay at the club after making a 'breakthrough' in talks over a new contract. It emerged last week that the midfielder was unhappy at the club and considering his future, with Liverpool one of several clubs interested.
It was reported that Mount 'didn't feel appreciated' at the club he had been at since he was six years old because other star players were getting preferential treatment.
Having played a pivotal part in the club's Champions League win last season, alongside performing well in the Premier League this season, it's claimed Mount feels he deserves a contract worth more than the £75,000-per-week he currently finds himself on.
The academy product believes he is still being treated the same way as he was in the academy, with more attention being paid to the club's mega-money stars.
But a report by Football Insider has claimed that Chelsea are confident he will sign a new long-term contract to dispel any doubts about his future.

They claim that despite Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich having all been linked in recent weeks, he is set to sign a new deal for an improved wage.
And it would extend past the expiry date of his current deal which runs out in June 2024.
Mount's emergence under Frank Lampard came as Chelsea endured a transfer embargo in the 2019-20 season.
Having accrued 107 appearances since his breakthrough - scoring 17 goals along the way - Mount eventually made the most Premier League appearances for the Blues last season.

And his performances have largely kept star signings Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech out of the side.
He scored his first Chelsea hat-trick against lowly Norwich City a month ago and added that he needed to score more if he was to progress as a player.
“I put pressure on myself before the game to get goals as it’s been a long time and I think this is the first time I’ve ever got more than one goal in a game for Chelsea," Mount said after his hat-trick.
“It’s a big moment for me personally to score three at home at Stamford Bridge, it’s very special.
