Arteta launches staunch defence of Arsenal's transfer policy
Arsenal have reportedly earmarked Thomas Frank and Graham Potter as potential replacements for Mikel Arteta, should the Spaniard fail to keep his job. The Gunners hierarchy are prepared to stand by their current boss but supporters are beginning to lose patience with Arteta and his methods.

TEAMtalk are now reporting that the Gunners have two surprise names in mind if they are forced to pull the trigger on Arteta.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank and Brighton's Graham Potter are said to be under consideration having already made an impression on the Arsenal board.
Frank helped mastermind Brentford's promotion to the Premier League after defeat in last season's play-off final against Fulham.
Yet the Dane ensured his Bees side learned from the experience and they went again last season, beating Swansea 2-0 at Wembley to reach the promised land.

It's not just Brentford's promotion that makes him an attractive option though.
He has also got the Premier League new boys playing with swagger and style having already beaten Arsenal 2-0 on the opening day of the season.
Potter has also implemented an eye-catching and expansive brand of football down on the south coast with Brighton.
The Seagulls were just lacking a clinical frontman to dispatch the chances they created last season.
Now there is optimism Potter could drive Brighton up into the top half of the table and there is a clear structure and plan in place at the Amex Stadium.

Tottenham did consider appointing Potter this summer but he was deemed an outsider for the job.
Now it appears Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal are also keen on the former Swansea boss, whose possession-based philosophy coincides with Arsenal's preferred style of play over the years.
There has also been speculation that Antonio Conte has been lined up for the position but his representative Federico Pastorello claims talks of a 'verbal agreement' is simply nonsense.
“Rumours about Arsenal pre-deal are not true," he recently said.
