Liverpool transfer target who snubbed Reds move drops hint as £17m, 27-goal striker eyed
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a 22-year-old hotshot in the summer transfer window, while Luis Suarez has given his verdict on whether Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe would be a better signing
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Red Bull Salzburg star Patson Daka in the summer transfer window, while Luis Suarez has given his verdict on whether Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe would be a better signing for Jurgen Klopp's side, and a former target has revealed why he snubbed the Premier League giants. Express Sport brings you all the latest transfer news from Anfield.
The 22-year-old has scored 27 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for Salzburg so far this season, including 20 strikes in just 18 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga.
According to a report from Salzburger Nachrichten, Daka's impressive returns have caught the attention of the four Premier League heavyweights.
The Austrian newspaper claims that the forward is valued at just €20m (£17m) and is expected to bring in a record transfer fee for Salzburg.

The club's current record sale is Erling Haaland, who joined Borussia Dortmund in a €20m deal, and Daka's value is expected to rise if he continues his prolific form.
Suarez tells Liverpool his Haaland or Mbappe choice
Liverpool have previously been linked with both Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe, with both set to be hot property in this summer's transfer window.
While they are not expected to spend the kind of huge sums required to sign either player this summer, former Reds striker Luis Suarez has given his view on which of the two would be the better signing for Jurgen Klopp's side.

“A lot of teams came to see me," Doku told Ouest-France, cited byMetro. "Everyone talks about Liverpool because it was the most concrete interest but there was also Arsenal and Chelsea.
“I was able to discuss with Jurgen, [Sadio] Mane, [Gini] Wijnaldum… [Steven] Gerrard too. I talked a lot with Mane but we didn’t really talk about football. We talked about everything.
“He told me that I was young, that I still had time. He wasn’t trying to convince me or say to me ‘come here, you will succeed’.
“I preferred to be careful. I know what my trajectory had to be. I knew what route I needed to take and I knew at that moment I needed to stay at Anderlecht.
“As soon as I’m asked if I regret it, I always say no, because if Liverpool came to me at 15, if they like me, they’ll come back later, that’s certain. It’s up to me to play well.”
