Manchester United picked up a crucial victory with a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad on Thursday evening. Bruno Fernandes struck twice for the Red Devils while Marcus Rashford and Daniel James were also on target, much to the delight of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. And they’re now in pole position to make the quarter-finals of the competition.
United had only won one of their last six matches prior to the match against Sociedad.
And despite not winning away in Spain since 2017, they were able to overcome that record to pick up a crucial win.
Fernandes was the hero for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, with the Portugal international striking in the 27th minute.
He then doubled his side’s lead in the second half and, though Sociedad were plucky, Rashford and James then scored to make the result safe.
Express Sport will now pick out United’s best three players from their victory in Turin, one that means they’re in pole position to make the quarter-finals.
