“In light of the ongoing speculation regarding the position of our football manager, Neil Lennon, the Board of Celtic Football Club wishes to make clear its continuing support for Neil and his backroom team,” the statement read.
“Neil has the support of the players and staff at the Club. He understands the pressure and the environment.
“As his outstanding record as a manager, captain and player demonstrates, he knows what it takes to be successful at Celtic and he has delivered success with many of the current squad of players, who understand his method and approach.”
Speaking after the draw against St Johnston, Lennon dismissed the speculation over his future and insisted he was confident in his ability to turn the club’s fortunes around.

He said: "I understand their frustrations when we are not playing well and not getting results.
"But there are ways and means, and some fans are more irate than others.
"Right now I agree with them our performances don't equal the quality we have, if that falls on me then so be it. If there is going to be a change then so be it, but I'll not stop working to try and get it right.
"The results have been bitterly disappointing and the performances haven't been great.

"I'll continue to work as best I can to bring success to the club, but we are going through a real bad period at the minute.
"Can I turn it around? Yes, of course I can. Will I get the time to do it? I've already been told the club are with me.
"But I know it's a results-driven business and the results aren't what they should be. It's not a question of me deserving anything.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be managing Celtic. But I don't fear anything."
