Thiago Silva ‘will fit’ in Premier League says pundit
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already enjoyed a good transfer window with the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner - with now more set to follow. Kai Havertz is expected to seal a move to Stamford Bridge in the coming days, while Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva are also reportedly closing in on moves to the capital. And that means Lampard may have three brilliant new double acts in his squad next term.
Chelsea are set to welcome Thiago Silva to Stamford Bridge, with the Paris Saint-Germain legend poised to sign a two-year contract.
Despite being 35, the Brazil international showed no signs of slowing down as the Ligue 1 giants recently made the Champions League final.
And partnering Silva at the back at Stamford Bridge could be Sarr.
The 21-year-old is reportedly set to sign a four-year contract at the club and, like Silva, is a free agent.
And that means the pair could strike up a good understanding in defence as Chelsea look to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2017, when Antonio Conte was in charge.

As mentioned above, Havertz is expected to join Chelsea as well - although Bayer Leverkusen have insisted the deal hasn’t been done just yet.
And the hope is he can strike up a strong connection with compatriot Werner at the tip of Lampard’s attack.
The pair represent the future of German football and there’s certainly hope in the country that the pair playing together at club level will enhance the nation’s prospects of future World Cup and European Championships glory.
Havertz scored 12 goals and registered six assists for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last term.
And Werner found the net a sensational 34 times from 45 matches for RB Leipzig.
