Man Utd target Dembele 'fits the club's criteria' says expert
Manchester United target Moussa Dembele is open to leaving Lyon this summer, according to reports. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of the France international and has previously pondered signing the striker. But, while Dembele is open to leaving, he’s not ‘desperate’ to secure a move away.
Manchester United thought about signing Dembele from Lyon a year ago, at a time where Romelu Lukaku was poised to leave Old Trafford for Inter Milan.
In the end, however, the Red Devils chose not to make a bid.
United were also linked with Dembele back in the January transfer window but, rather than go after the 24-year-old, they opted to land Odion Ighalo instead.
Dembele has been in terrific form for Lyon this term, scoring 16 goals from 27 matches.
And he recently scored a double for the Ligue 1 giants against Manchester City, ending Pep Guardiola’s hopes of European glory in the process.
Now, the Manchester Evening News say Dembele is open to leaving Lyon behind amid long-standing interest from United.

But, while that’s the case, the Lyon star isn’t ‘desperate’ to secure a move away and could therefore remain at the Groupama Stadium.
United, for their part, are currently focusing all their time and energy on trying to bring Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.
Solskjaer has spent the last 18 months tracking the 20-year-old and believes he can shine alongside Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood in attack.
United are also monitoring Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, while links to Donny van de Beek and Saul Niguez linger in the background.
And, at the back, the Red Devils have interest in Dayot Upamecano and Alessio Romagnoli as they look to tighten their defence regardless of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof’s positive form.
