Man Utd: Pundits discuss ‘major development’ in Sancho transfer
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is guaranteed goals and assists with Jadon Sancho, Louis Saha believes. The Borussia Dortmund star is the Norweigan’s top transfer target having flourished in the Bundesliga. And, though the Red Devils are looking at alternatives, they remain hopeful of luring him to Old Trafford.
Manchester United have spent the last few weeks trying to sign Sancho, only for Borussia Dortmund to thwart their attempts.
The Bundesliga giants have made it clear they’ll only settle for £108million for their prized asset, with the club under no financial pressure to sell.
United remain hopeful of signing Sancho, however, despite alternatives including Ousmane Dembele, Kingsley Coman, Douglas Costa, David Brooks and Ansu Fati being eyed.
And Saha believes that, should the Red Devils succeed in their transfer mission, they’d be guaranteed goals and assists with Sancho.
“I think Jadon Sancho is incredibly effective and is probably the closest guarantee there is for a winger to score goals and provide assists,” he told the Football Index podcast.
“He is very fast and more importantly, he has the end product.

“I think it’s this creativity that Manchester United badly need in those wide areas. He can have a similar impact to what Ryan Giggs had on the left side.
“Sancho will bring that flair and an ability to force the defender to commit themselves, he has the quality of the final pass or the final dribble to be a massive threat.
“Sancho is an amazing player and he will offer a lot to Manchester United.”
Barcelona star Dembele has been mooted as an alternative, despite the Catalan giants insisting he isn’t for sale.
Yet though the France international has talent in abundance, Saha reckons he’d be a gamble for the club.
Saha also questioned the logic behind interest in Jack Grealish, with the Aston Villa playmaker another in the club’s sights as they eye a title challenge next term.
“Jack Grealish has been pivotal for Aston Villa this season and played a huge role in keeping the club in the Premier League,” said the former No 9.
“He’s very combative in midfield and his passion would fit the bill for Manchester United, there’s no doubt Grealish has the ability to play for a club that should be competing for trophies.
“I think the question remains whether Manchester United need Jack Grealish and where he would fit into a midfield that already has Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.
“Needing to compete along with Fred and Matic, I think it would be a challenge for Grealish to be a regular starter for Manchester United.”
