Man Utd: Paul Pogba is ‘happy’ at club says Julien Laurens
Manchester United have decided to loan out James Garner because Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are currently blocking his path to the first team, reports say. The youngster has been restricted to just six appearances across all competitions this season. And it seems he’ll be sent out on loan to aid his development.
Manchester United have high hopes for Garner, who has sparkled at youth level.
He has managed nine goals from 12 appearances for the U-23s this season, drawing comparisons with Michael Carrick along the way for his slick and composed style of play.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave Garner his debut last term, with the midfielder coming off the bench in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
But he’s failed to get many minutes this season, making just six appearances across all competitions - and one in the Premier League.
It’s claimed that, with Fernandes, Pogba and Scott McTominay ahead of him in the pecking order, the Red Devils feel it’s the right time for him to secure first-team football elsewhere.

And he’s not the only player who will be temporarily heading out of the Old Trafford exit door.
United will also loan out Dylan Levitt, who is another academy player the club think has a bright future ahead of him.
Levitt impressed on his sole start for the club in November’s 1-0 defeat to Astana and looks set to head to the Championship to boost his chances of becoming an Old Trafford regular.
Goalkeeper Matej Kovar will also benefit from minutes elsewhere, with David De Gea, Dean Henderson and Sergio Romero all blocking his path to the first-team.
And Ethan Laird is another who may go out on loan, with United hoping he can provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the years ahead.
“One, for his own benefit, because to have a few months' training with the first team now, in the summer, tests him, and, to be fair to the boy, he's deserved it because he is an exciting talent, but he was desperate to come in.
“He keeps in touch with the coaches and he was always ready when we asked him: 'Are you ready to come in, are you fit enough?'
“And he worked hard over the lockdown. He's done really well, he doesn't seem out of place, so he'll definitely be more and more in and around the first team next season as well.”
Players who could leave United permanently this season include Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira.
Regarding incomings, Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish are their preferred transfer targets.
