Chelsea: Lampard says he is ‘excited’ to sign Werner
Timo Werner has teased Chelsea fans by posting a photo of himself landing at an airport, suggesting he has touched down in London ahead of Frank Lampard's crunch game against Wolves. For months, Werner looked set to be on his way to Anfield to join up with Jurgen Klopp's side.
A loss could also be enough, but only if Leicester don't pick up a point against Manchester United.
Werner's arrival in London confirms that he won't play for Leipzig when the Champions League resumes next month.
The Bundesliga side take on Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, while Chelsea must overturn a 3-0 deficit against Bayern Munich to reach the next round.
"Of course it hurts me that I can’t help out Leipzig to play in the Champions League," Werner said last month.
