Man Utd: Pundit discusses Solskjaer's transfer plans
Manchester United have told Jude Bellingham they expect him to be competing for a first-team role at Old Trafford straight away should they sign him from Birmingham, according to reports. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed by the 16-year-old this season. And the Red Devils are hoping to beat Borussia Dortmund to the teenager’s signature.
Manchester United are currently well-stocked in the middle of the park, with Solskjaer’s men all shining before the coronavirus crisis brought football to a halt.
Paul Pogba has been sidelined through injury but Bruno Fernandes has become the Red Devils’ new talisman in the time since, shining since his January move from Sporting Lisbon.
Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay have both impressed as holding midfielders, while Fred has lived up to his £52million price tag.
United also have Andreas Pereira capable of playing in that position.
But the Evening Standard say they want to sign Bellingham nonetheless - and want him to compete for a starting berth right away.
It’s claimed they’ve already communicated this to the teenager - who they consider to be a generational talent behind the scenes.

And Sir Alex Ferguson was also part of the club’s charm offensive, with the Red Devils legend on hand to meet Bellingham and his family as well.
He’s not United’s only target for the summer transfer window, however.
They want to sign Jadon Sancho from Dortmund and are hopeful the England international will replace Alexis Sanchez as their No 7.
And Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish is in their sights as well, with the 24-year-old sparkling under Dean Smith.
Meanwhile, speaking to Sky Sports recently, Solskjaer admitted United were braced for a ‘new world’ in the transfer market due to the coronavirus crisis.
