Everton transfer target Allan scores equaliser for Napoli
Everton have submitted a £40million bid for Napoli star Allan. The Brazilian is one of Carlo Ancelotti's top summer transfer targets but the Toffees face a problem as Napoli value the midfielder at a considerably higher amount.
The 29-year-old is under contract with Napoli until 2023 and while the player's relationship with the club and coach Gennaro Gattuso has deteriorated throughout this season the Serie A side are still demanding a high price for the player.
According to Italian publication Il Mattino, Napoli have rejected Everton's bid as club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is seeking a fee of £63m (€70m).
Allan made the switch from Udinese to Napoli in 2015 and has established himself as a key player for the club.
The defensive midfielder is also adept at being a deep-lying playmaker and during his 203 appearances in all competitions for the club, he has scored 10 goals and has provided 16 assists.

Ancelotti only had a brief stint as Napoli manager as he was sacked in December 2019 after taking over at the club in the summer of 2018.
However, the 60-year-old Italian wants to bring Allan to Goodison Park this summer and after also showing interest in the player in the January window.
Allan wants to leave Napoli as he has fallen down the pecking order under Gattuso and has only made 16 Serie A appearances this campaign.

The midfielder was also reportedly fined for a row with the club's vice-president Edo, who is De Laurentiis' son.
And there are suggestions in the Italian press that Allan has a frosty relationship with Napoli striker Dries Mertens, who is set to sign a new two-year contract with the club, according to Sky Italy.
Ancelotti has big plans to overhaul his squad this summer and speaking before the suspension of English football he suggested that while he is happy with the mix of youth and experience in his squad, there is still room to improve.
"We are not a top team yet," Ancelotti said.
