Gabriel Magalhaes: Expert discusses Premier League interest
Everton are confident they will be able to secure the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes in the summer transfer window after submitting a new bid for the Lille defender. The Toffees have been pursuing Gabriel for several months, however, they do face competition for his signature, with Chelsea and Real Madrid both keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.

The report claims Everton have already offered the defender a lucrative five-year contract that has been provisionally accepted.
Gabriel signed a new contract with Lille in February committing his future to the club until 2023, but a move to Goodison Park would secure him another huge pay rise.

According to Spanish publication AS, Los Blancos have turned their attention to Gabriel, as they believe their chances of signing RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano are diminishing.
However, there are a couple of issues for Real and the player about securing a potential deal.
Firstly the young Brazilian wouldn't be guaranteed a starting place and instead would be the club's third-choice centre-back behind Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.
In addition to this, Gabriel would currently need to take one of Real's three non-EU player slots, which are currently filled by three Brazilians - Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eder Militao.
As for Everton, if Lille accepts the £20m offer, they will still be making a substantial profit on a player they signed from Brazilian side Avai in 2017 in a deal worth £2.7m (€3m).
