Liverpool: Pundits discuss possible Timo Werner transfer
Liverpool could have made the right decision to wait before activating the buy out clause for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. This is because it could drop by millions if they fail to win the Bundesliga title this season, according to reports in Italy.
The 24-year-old is having another sublime season for RB Leipzig and so far this campaign he has scored 27 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.
Werner looks set to RB Leipzig this summer, with Liverpool in pole position to sign the German international.
However, reports claim the Reds have asked for move time as they want to assess the financial impact the suspension of football will have on the next transfer window before making a formal bid.
And this decision could end up saving them millions if they decide to go ahead and activate the release clause in Werner's contract.

According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, if RB Leipzig don't win the Bundesliga title this season, the buyout clause in Werner contract will drop from £52m (€60m) to £44m (€50m).
RB Leipzig are currently third in the Bundesliga and are five points off leaders Bayern Munich with nine games remaining.
The report claims if RB Leipzig fail to win the title then Inter Milan might consider entering the race to sign the striker, due to his lower price.

Bayern Munich had also been linked with the striker, but at the beginning of the month, Werner dismissed joining them when he revealed he preference to play in a foreign league over staying in Germany.
"Bayern are a great club, we don't need to talk about it, and Hansi Flick has proven this season he is a really good head coach," Werner told Bild.
