Jadon Sancho: Pundit on why youngster would join Man Utd
Jadon Sancho appears to be leaning towards a move to Manchester United, with the Red Devils increasingly confident of signing the Borussia Dortmund star come the summer transfer window. The England international has been in electric form this season, scoring 14 Bundesliga goals and registering 15 assists from just 23 league matches. And Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer both see him as being the ideal fit for their side. Express Sport will now delve deeper into United’s pursuit of Sancho ahead of the summer transfer window.
United are prepared to give Sancho the No 7 shirt this summer - and will hope he can do it justice.
It’s a big jersey at Old Trafford having previously been worn by club legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and George Best over the years.
Since Ronaldo’s exit in 2009, players have struggled under the weight of expectation that the shirt number brings.
Michael Owen wasn’t spectacular, Antonio Valencia gave it back after a year and Angel Di Maria toiled with it on his back.
Alexis Sanchez is the current occupant but the Chile international is likely to be cut loose when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

Sancho is close to United star Marcus Rashford, who has gone on the charm offensive in recent weeks.
"Sancho is a great player and you sort of, you know, it's like the new generation player and it's definitely exciting, to watch him become the player that is becoming so, um, you know, credit to him,” Rashford said recently.
“Hopefully we can, we can all play together. That'll be, that'd be good.”
Sancho is leaning towards the prospect of playing alongside Rashford at United.
And the thought of those two in Solskjaer’s attack will certainly generate excitement among supporters.
