Why Marcelo Bielsa didn't know that Leeds almost signed Cavani and Ibrahimovic in January
Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed that Marcelo Bielsa's side were close to signing both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani during the January transfer window - but the Elland Road manager never had a clue.
Leeds: Bielsa says 'we need a striker as soon as possible'
Leeds United chief Andrea Radrizzani tried to complete deals for both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani during the January transfer window. But, manager Marcelo Bielsa didn't know that the Whites were interested in either player.

Leeds were told by Cavani that he wasn't interested in a move to Elland Road.
He was already being linked with transfers to Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, and talks over a switch to Leeds never really started, said Radrizzani.
But, there were more serious negotiations with Ibrahimovic.
The Sweden international gained the Leeds' owners respect, as he was very open with the club about his plans.

While the move to Elland Road never materialised, Radrizzani hasn't ruled out a future bid for Ibrahimovic.
"Cavani? The PSG president had given me the permission to verify the interest with the player's brother," Radrizzani told Gianluca DiMarzio.
"However, the negotiation never flew. I spoke more concretely with Zlatan.
"He could give us a decisive push, but he decided to go to Milan.
