Man Utd: Ed Woodward is ‘part of the problem’ says pundit
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has turned his attention to signing a forward now that the club have all but completed the signing of Bruno Fernandes. And a surprise name could make the move to Old Trafford if they decide to sure up their interest.
Manchester United chief Woodward has been a busy man over the last 24 hours.
He himself has been putting the finishing touches on a deal that will see Fernandes, after weeks of intense transfer negotiations, make the move to Old Trafford.
But, while he was doing that, a group of so-called United fans bombarded his house with flares and issued a chilling death threat in the process.
That’s not acceptable, especially given how Woodward has given what many supporters wanted in the signing of Fernandes.
And that’s unlikely to be the end of the Red Devils’ transfer activity this winter.
United still want a forward and interest in several players has been well-publicised.

Edinson Cavani was enquired about, only for the club to learn that the PSG star has his heart set on a move to Atletico Madrid instead.
Krzysztof Piatek has been monitored but the Red Devils would only want a loan, while AC Milan want him off the books permanently.
There’s Odion Ighalo who has also been linked but the Nigeria international has spent the last few years in China.
And also Islam Slimani, who flopped at Leicester and Newcastle before joining Monaco on loan during the summer.
All of those names have been mentioned.
But another player is being scouted by United and could be the answer to their striker search.

Turkish newspaper Milliyet claim the Red Devils are still tracking Vedat Muriqi, who plays for Fenerbahce.
His name was first linked with United a while ago but, in the time since, there’s been little talk of a transfer.
However, United reportedly have him on a list of players they’re looking at as they look to bolster their ranks.
The Kosovo international has been in fine form ever since arriving from Çaykur Rizespor in the summer.
So far for Fenerbahce he’s scored 12 goals from 18 appearances.
And, if United were to sign him, he’d certainly be a surprise for fans accustomed to being linked with the usual players.
Fener don’t want to lose their star asset, particularly with the club fighting Sivasspor for the Turkish Super Lig title.
But United have already proven themselves to be savvy in the market having fought so hard to get Fernandes in.
They also have a unique pulling power to them which means that Muriqi would likely consider a move.
Yet whether they do so remains to be seen. It’s still a possibility, though, that United may sure up their interest.
Particularly given their need to replace the crocked Marcus Rashford.
