Like Ighalo, United fans were far from happy when it emerged the club were eyeing Leicester's Islam Slimani.
The 31-year-old is spending the season on loan at Monaco but may end up moving to United on a temporary basis instead.

Emre Can
This appears the most-unlikely of the lot.
Firstly, Emre Can used to play for Liverpool. Not many players who do that end up moving to Old Trafford.
And then there's the fact that he appears to be close to a move to Borussia Dortmund.
United haven't given up hope of landing the Germany international, however, despite him appearing out of reach.
And that means there's a chance, albeit a small one, that Can will make a return to the Premier League.
