But with so many big clubs knocking at the door an exit from St Andrew's could be more of a matter of when, rather than if.
Birmingham are in a strong negotiating position as they are not in a desperate need for the money and can hold out for big offers for Bellingham.
He is currently represented by his dad Mark and has rejected the opportunity to have his future guided by other football agents.
Despite his age, Bellingham is in no hurry to leave his boyhood club and has made 26 appearances for Birmingham this season, during which he has scored four goals and provided one assist.
United host Burnley tonight at Old Trafford tonight knowing a win will take them within three points of fourth-placed Chelsea.

And when United boss Ole Gunnar Solskajer was pressed about the club’s transfer plans, the Norwegian was hesitant to speak about their targets.
“You’re never 100 per cent sure something’s going to happen until it happens,” he said.
“So we’ll update you.”
United come into the game off a 2-0 loss to league leaders Liverpool and Solskjaer insisted the club’s focus was on Burnley and not talking about recruitment.
“For me now, we’ve lost to Liverpool; a team you all say are fantastic and we’ve been in the game until the last kick of the ball,” he said.
