Man United: Solskjaer discusses Bruno Fernandes transfer
Manchester United are in dire need of reinforcements during the January transfer market, despite their move for Bruno Fernandes believed to be close. Express Sport has picked out three signings Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make in the current window.

United missed out on two of their early transfer targets in Erling Braut Haaland and Mario Mandzukic earlier in the window.
Despite the disappointment in not being able to sign either forward, they were at least looking at the right type of player.
After Romelu Lukaku’s departure last season, United were left without a striker who can hold up the ball and lay off for the packer forwards in Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and Dan James.
And Solskjaer needs to be looking at that type of player as he continues to try and rebuild his squad.

Paris Saint-Germain seem prepared to let Cavan leave in January.
The Uruguayan, who is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 198 goals, is out of contract in the summer, and therefore available on the cheap.
Cavan has never been known for his pace, but is prolific in front of goal and has a brilliant footballing brain, making him the ideal man to create chances for his team-mates.
United are reported to be challenging Arsenal and Atletico Madrid for his signature, but have the ideal chance to show they are still a dominant force in world football by pipping both to the 32-year-old.

This one may be unpopular with Manchester United fans considering the 33-year-old’s history with Manchester City, but Dzeko could be just the man they’re looking for.
The tall Bosnian striker is under contract at AS Roma until 2022, meaning he may be slightly more expensive than the likes of Cavani, but at 33 he is unlikely to command an unrealistic fee.
Dzeko is known for his height and dominance in the air, and like Cavani he could place himself in the perfect role in the United frontline, with a packer striker playing off him.
He was previously targeted by Chelsea, before they signed Olivier Giroud, and he has a proven record in England having scored a modest 50 Premier League goals in 130 games.

Raul Jimenez
Wolves striker Jimenez would undoubtedly be the most expensive of the three signings listed, but his ability is unquestioned.
Jimenez has quality in the air, and is pacy, with the ability to beat a man one-on-one.
United are believed to be keen on making a move for the Mexican striker, who has eight league goals in 21 games this season.
He told Marca earlier this week: “I’d have to look at the conditions [of a possible move], if they suited myself, Wolves and the other club.”
