Gomes was recently asked about his future at Old Trafford.
And the 19-year-old, who became the club’s youngest Premier League debutant back in 2017, kept his cards close to his chest.
“It’s a big squad and a long season and it’s just making sure you’re ready and right for when the opportunities come,” Gomes told MUTV.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer lauded Chong for his United display against Wolves on Saturday night, saying: "I thought Tahith Chong was fantastic tonight, he caused loads of problems for them.”

The United manager also delivered his verdict on the game, saying: “Wolves are a good team, a strong team, very physical.
“I thought we played well in the first half and dominated the possession.
“But then they took over in the second half which made it an even tougher game.
“Of course, we got off the hook when he [Matt Doherty] mistimed his header and it hit his arm. But it was an even game and I think a draw is a fair result.”
