Everton star Michael Keane slammed for recent performances - ‘He’s been abysmal’ (Image: GETTY)
Everton defender Michael Keane has been slammed by ex-Leeds striker Noel Whelan over the England’s international’s ‘pathetic’ defending.
This season, Everton have not hit the form that manager Marco Silva would have hoped for, with Keane having struggled defensively for his side this term.
Everton are languishing in the relegation spots as the pressure heaps itself on Silva, who has insisted on sticking with Keane in the heart of defence.
On Friday evening, matters got worse for Keane as England lost to the Czech Republic, with the home team’s equaliser coming thanks to some poor positioning from the former Burnley man.

“We’ve seen a lot of that from him this season. I have no idea how he’s still in the England side.”
Keane will be hoping to bounce back against Bulgaria in their second qualifying game of the international break when they meet in Sofia on Monday.
He’ll then head back to Merseyside as Everton gear up for their clash with West Ham next Saturday at Goodison Park.
