Manchester United need to bring in SIX players says Redknapp
Ed Woodward has been working hard since the season finished to ensure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has everything he needs to compete next season.
However so far, the Manchester United chief has failed to come up with the goods.
Daniel James remains the club’s only summer signing to date with Aaron Wan-Bissaka expected to complete his £50million move from Crystal Palace imminently.
Centre-back and central midfield remain high on Solskjaer’s list of priorities and the Norwegian intended to have all his transfer business wrapped up by July 1. That’s not going to happen.
According to the Evening Standard, United have been tracking as many as six midfielders.
They remain confident that they can complete deals for Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff.
Liverpool and Tottenham are believed to have pulled out of the race to sign the Portuguese star leaving the door open for United to close the deal.
They also remain the only club interested in the Newcastle midfielder which tarnishes the possibility of a potential bidding war.

Solskjaer intends to add at least two midfielders to his squad.
That’s with the view that Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera need to be replaced after leaving Old Trafford in the past six months.
The club have been eyeing Idrissa Gana Gueye as a potential replacement for Herrera, the Everton star tried to force his way out of Goodison Park in January to Paris Saint-Germain but to no avail.
There is still a chance that Paul Pogba could leave this summer too with the Frenchman linked with Juventus and Real Madrid. His future remains uncertain.
