Kruse enjoyed a good season with Werder Bremen this season, scoring 11 goals and registering nine assists in the Bundesliga.
And although Kruse can provide experience to a youthful Liverpool side, fans will be worried about the fact that Kruse is now past his prime at 31 years old.
Last week, BBC sport reporter David Ornstein spoke of Liverpool’s transfer dealings, noting that their business, if any, will be minimal. He also stated that they would be looking for a versatile attacker to replace Sturridge.
“The most settled team of the lot, they’re looking at continuity,” he said.

“It will be a very settled summer for them, consolidation seems to be the name of the game, they’ve stockpiled well.
“They’ve essentially done their big shop and they don’t see the need to daily shops and to improve their squad they feel it would take astronomical spending.
“They’re looking at one or a maximum of two signings unless there’s an injury or a player that wants out like Philippe Coutinho.
“At left-back they need cover, that’s they key area, with Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne leaving.
