Tottenham players celebrate Ajax win in changing room
Tottenham produced a fabulous second-half comeback to win the game 3-2 on the night and in the process setting up an all-English Champions League final.
Rose had spent most of the game battling with Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech with both players given a yellow card over the course of the clash.
The England left-back was clearly fired up for the match but Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino took the decision to replace him in the 82nd minute with Ben Davies.
Spurs won the game on away goals as if finished 3-3 on aggregate and Rose wasted no time in celebrating the achievement with a drink.
It just goes to show it's not over until it's over
Cameras caught the defender drinking the beer on the field after the final whistle.
While his fellow team-mates took pictures from the pitch on their mobile phones at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Rose was seen holding and drinking a beer.
Tottenham came into the game trailing 1-0 from the first leg and saw their task of winning made harder after the Ajax captain, Matthijs de Ligt, scored the Dutch team’s first goal after just five minutes.
Ziyech then extended Ajax’s lead with a fabulous first-time strike off an assist by former Southampton winger Dusan Tadic.
But ten minutes after the break Moura began the fightback with a goal, before the 26-year-old Brazilian added his second in the 59th minute.
The stage was then set for another dramatic Champions League comeback after Liverpool had overturned a three-goal deficit against Barcelona on Tuesday night.
Moura stepped up once again and sealed off a fantastic hat-trick performance with a goal in the 95th minute.
After the game Rose admitted his team-mates felt anything was possible coming into the match.
“We saw Liverpool last night and it just goes to show it's not over until it's over,” he said on BT Sport.
Tottenham: Pochettino says he’s ‘emotional’ after Ajax comeback
“There were a few words said at half-time and we then played like that.
“We can beat anyone when we play like that.
“The gaffer mentioned it at the hotel before we left and said that's the right attitude.
“How we started against Ajax in the first leg was not right and now we're looking forward to the final.”
