Manchester United hero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that he has been handed his ‘dream’ job after the news of his three-year deal was announced on Thursday.
The 46-year-old has been open about his desire to continue in the role since he was named caretaker manager in December - and an impressive run of form have seen his dream swiftly become a reality.
Several senior players revealed before the official decision that they wanted the Norwegian as their long-term manager - and they have now got their wish.
Manchester Evening News have claimed that the players were informed of the decision on Wednesday at their Carrington training base after returning from international duty.

“This gave us the freedom to play and enjoy football again because maybe we lost that with the results that we had before.”
Solskjaer has spoken out on a ‘long term’ plan since being handed the permanent reigns, and fans will be excited on what the future holds.
He said: “It was an honour to be a Manchester United player, and then to start my coaching career here.
“This is the job that I always dreamed of doing and I’m beyond excited to have the chance to lead the club long-term and hopefully deliver the continued success that our amazing fans deserve.”

Executive vice chairman at Old Trafford, Ed Woodward, spoke about the decision alongside the announcement, and thanked Solskjaer and his team for their service so far.
He said: “Since coming in as caretaker manager in December, the results Ole has delivered speak for themselves.
“More than just performances and results, Ole brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a coach, coupled with a desire to give young players their chance and a deep understanding of the culture of the club.
“This all means that he is the right person to take Manchester United forward.”
