“We still weren’t at our best but overall I think we created the best chances and I feel we should have won.”
Before the game, United fans could have been forgiven for fearing the threat of Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt international is the Premier League’s joint top-scorer with 17 goals.
But, at Old Trafford on Sunday, Shaw kept him quiet.
And Solskjaer lauded the England defender after the game.

“When they need a goal and they take Mohamed Salah off you know Luke Shaw has played a good game,” he said.
"Very happy with [the defence] and that's always the foundation, if you keep clean sheets and keep David [de Gea] not very occupied, we know we've got something going and teams have to be built from that foundation.
"Victor [Lindelof] and Chris [Smalling] fantastic, Luke Shaw, that was his best performance under me.
"It's one of them things, you want him to go forward a bit more but Salah and [Sadio] Mane aren't bad, either, so we had to take that bit of caution.
"Even though you're never happy not winning a game this was a good performance."
