Did you see Denis Suarez's face as he returned to Man City ahead of Arsenal debut?
DENIS SUAREZ looked less-than-impressed as he returned to Manchester City ahead of his Premier League debut with Arsenal.
Ian Wright: Denis Suarez will make a difference to Arsenal
Denis Suarez may have been pleased to return to Manchester City, but the new Arsenal signing certainly wasn’t showing it as he arrived at the Etihad.
Suarez, who has joined the Gunners on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season, was a picture of concentration as he made his way into the stadium.
The Spaniard spent two years at City without making a Premier League appearance and looked determined to show what his old club are missing out on.
Suarez was pictured walking towards the changing rooms alongside Stephan Lichtsteiner, with neither player showing a hint of a grin ahead of the crunch clash with Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 25-year-old’s expression may also have been influenced by the fact that his Arsenal debut would have to wait, with Unai Emery only naming the midfielder on the bench.
However, Suarez had been in high spirits during training earlier in the week with the Spain international already making friends with Lucas Torreira.
He was initially put through his paces in a private session with fitness coach Julen Massach on deadline day.
Suarez then joined up with his new team-mates on Friday as the Gunners battled freezing conditions at London Colney.
The Barcelona ace was all smiles during training but definitely had his game face on when arriving at his old club.
Emery rates Suarez from their time together at Sevilla in 2014/15, with the Arsenal manager praising his new signing’s versatility.
When asked about the new arrival in his pre-match press conference, the Gunners boss said: “I think he is good, he adapts quickly and he is a player with quality.
“He can play right, left, he can play inside like a No 10 player. I will use him in all positions.”
