Arsenal news: Denis Suarez strikes up friendship in training as injured ace nears return
DENIS SUAREZ is already settling in well at Arsenal following his loan move from Barcelona.
Denis Suarez was all smiles as he took part in his first full training session with the rest of the Arsenal squad.
The Spanish midfielder completed a loan deal from Barcelona during the January transfer window and will remain at the Emirates for the rest of the season.
Suarez also extended his current contract at Barcelona until 2021 during the recent negotiations, although Arsenal have an option to make his switch permanent.
The 25-year-old immediately got down to work with fitness coach Julen Masach on Thursday, going through some running drills before showing off his close control in a private session.
However, Suarez met the majority of his new Arsenal team-mates for the first time today as the Gunners geared up to take on Manchester City this weekend.
The London Colney training pitches were covered in snow for Suarez’s first full session, although the former City youngster had a big smile on his face despite the weather.
And the Barcelona loanee already appears to have made a firm friend in the form of Lucas Torreira, with the Uruguayan seen sharing a joke with his new team-mate.
Arsenal posted a video of the pair walking towards the training pitches on their social media accounts this morning, while the duo were also seen having a chat during a break in play.
Torreira is relatively new to north London himself, having joined from Sampdoria in the summer.
Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was spotted enjoying himself as he played around in the fresh snow drifts created by the hard-working Arsenal ground staff.
There was more good news for Gunners fans as Henrikh Mkhitaryan was spotted in training as he nears a return to full fitness.
The Armenian has been struggling with a metatarsal injury and has not featured since the Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham in December, but could make a comeback against City.
