Huddersfield penalty claim: Is this PROOF Liverpool star James Milner handled ball in box?
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN were denied what may have been a penalty in their clash with Liverpool today.
Huddersfield were chasing the game at 1-0 down in the first half when the controversy at the John Smith’s Stadium unfolded.
The ball was headed into the box by Jonathan Hogg and hit James Milner’s thigh before bouncing onto the midfielder’s arm.
Huddersfield players - led by Hogg - surrounded the referee but no penalty was given.
Milner looked sheepish over the incident and tried to play it down when confronted by Terriers players.
But do these pictures prove it should have been a penalty?
Town fans on social media were not happy with the decision.
“If the hand ball happens in the town box, it’s a penalty all day,” one fan wrote.
“Michael Oliver made the difference - denying Town a goal and a penalty!” another put.
And a third said: “Blatant penalty, disallowed goal and hit the post. Just need that bit of luck. Incredible performance so far, keep at em and we'll get a goal. Come on!!!! #htafc”
