I don’t think that Arsenal is good enough of a team to just say ‘you know what Mesut? We don’t need you’
Alejandro Moreno on Arsenal star Mesut Ozil
Ozil has often been criticised for his performances at Arsenal but signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract in January to make him the club’s highest ever paid player on £350,000-a-week.
Moreno cannot see how Emery can change the type of footballer Ozil is at his age.
But he says Ozil is too good to be pushed aside and left out of the team.
“It’s always difficult when a new manager comes in and you have, essentially, an elephant in the room,” Moreno said.

“And that in this case is Mesut Ozil, because the guy just re-signed, and he’s making a chunk of money and he has been comfortable for many years.
“And if you’re Unai Emery, you’re trying to work in a way in which you can use the talent of this player and you can use his abilities.
“But if he doesn’t fit your mentality, if he doesn’t fit the psychology of the team that you want to implement, if he doesn’t fit your overall plans, then it becomes that idea of a little give and take.
“You’re not going to change, at this point in his career, what Mesut Ozil is.
