Unai Emery says he's 'proud' following first Arsenal win
Arsenal appointed Emery as manager back in May, with the Spaniard signing a four-year deal with the north London giants.
He has, however, endured a rocky start to life in the Premier League, losing against Manchester City and Chelsea before victory over West Ham provided some respite at the weekend.
While Arsenal are finally up and running for the new campaign, Benitez’s Newcastle are stuck in a rut.
Their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday means they have just one point to their name after just three games.
Despite that, however, Carragher thinks Benitez should have been in the running for the Arsenal job.
And he also revealed the former Liverpool boss was one of his ‘biggest influences’ in football.
"Rafa is probably my biggest influence in football - I had him for six years as my manager,” he told Sky Sports.
"You look at someone like Rafa and his CV, with what he's done - he's got trophies everywhere.

"Why wasn't he in the running for the Arsenal job?"
Arsenal fans, however, may disagree.
Benitez is not famed for his attacking football and, with limited resources at Newcastle, has been unable to implement an enthralling style of play.
His tactics have drawn criticism from corners of the footballing world with Real Madrid players also objecting to his methods when he succeeded Carlo Ancelotti in 2015.
