Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus ace had house damaged by Man Utd fans after World Cup incident
CRISTIANO RONALDO’s house was vandalised by Manchester United fans following his World Cup clash with Wayne Rooney 12 years ago, according to reports.
Ronaldo teased after missing a volley in Juventus training
Ronaldo spent six successful years at Manchester United, joining the club in 2003 and firing them to three Premier League titles.
He left the club for Real Madrid in 2009 but could have moved three years earlier after a high-profile spat with Rooney at the World Cup in Germany.
Cristiano Ronaldo angered many England fans for what they perceived to be a deliberate ploy to get Rooney sent off. The DC United hitman received his marching orders after a stamp on then-Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho.
And the Manchester Evening News claim United supporters took action after the forward’s World Cup antics.
Ronaldo reportedly returned home that summer to find his house trashed.
The MEN’s report says: “Many United supporters were lamenting the World Cup fall-out between Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in Gelsenkirchen.
“Ronaldo returned to Alderley Edge to find his windows smashed and was angling to join Real Madrid.”
United were ultimately able to keep their talisman for another three years.
Sir Alex Ferguson convinced him fans would soon forget about his Portugal links should he fire them to Premier League glory.

And Ronaldo did exactly that, blitzing 26 goals as the Red Devils dethroned Chelsea as champions.
Rooney, meanwhile, opened up on his clash with Ronaldo back in February.
"It was a weird feeling sat in that dressing room,” he said when asked about the incident.
“If we would have gone through, I would have missed the semi-final and the final, but if we went out it was my fault.
"I spoke to Ronaldo after the game in the tunnel.
“I said the press are going to want to make a big thing about us falling out, but I said ‘don’t worry about it, I would have done the same thing.’
“I tried to get him booked for diving in the first half.
"He was my club team-mate, but he was a rival in internationals, so if I could have gotten him sent off, I would."
