Victoria season 2 spoilers: MAJOR death puts Victoria and Albert at odds amid SHOCKING lie
VICTORIA season two's fourth episode saw a major death rock the palace walls and cause cracks between the Queen and her beloved Prince Albert.
Victoria writer Daisy Goodwin: Lord M not officially dead yet
When Albert (played by Tom Hughes) learned the news that his father had died, the devastated Prince left his wife and their two children for Coburg, Germany right away to be with his family.
During the sombre visit however, Albert learned from his uncle Leopold (Alex Jennings) that he is his biological father, which caused him catastrophic upset and prompted him to drown his sorrows with his more irresponsible brother Prince Ernest (David Oakes).
Following a night of heavy drinking, toasting to the King’s untimely death, a seething Albert headed back to the palace and caused havoc with a suit of armour until he ran into his real father and uncle.
Struggling to contain his emotions, Albert spat: “I always felt something. Thank you for making it so clear to me.”

Sometimes I feel as though I’m just pretending to be a mother and a queen, but really I’m an imposter
“I am so proud of you Albert and now that you are a father you must understand my feeling,” his uncle responded, trying to calm him down.
Yet the Prince was devastated by the potential implications to his wife Victoria (Jenna Coleman) and position in the palace, as he continued: “You’ve made me a sham, my entire life a lie, Victoria married to a b****rd and my children illegitimate.”
King Leopold attempted to provide his true son with solace by promising that as long as no one finds out, the Prince can continue as normal, and reminded him that his heritage cannot be proven.
But heartbroken by his visit to Germany, Albert struggled with his new burden when he returned, unaware of the excruciating torment his monarch has been struggling with since the “distressing” birth of her second child Albert.

As the pair later sat together at the piano, Victoria finally confessed to experiencing feelings of what would have been postpartum depression with her husband, saying: “You don’t know what it’s like to look at a child and feel as though you have nothing to offer it. That’s how worthless I felt.”
Shocked by her admission and concealing the secret of his own parentage, Albert seemed shaken but still didn’t reveal the truth, as his wife continued: “Sometimes I feel as though I’m just pretending to be a mother and a queen, but really I’m an imposter. Just a little girl wearing a crown.”
Clearly struggling with the realisation of how much she has been suffering, Albert looked pained and held his wife close, but still kept his secret hidden. Could the Prince’s lies be the beginning of a fractured relationship for the pair? Or will the Queen finally discover the truth about her husband?
