ITV fans are in for a letdown as rumours swirl that the beloved daytime game show, Tenable, is on the chopping block. The programme, which has enjoyed seven series, is allegedly being considered for cancellation by the network.

Hosted by Warwick Davis, the show offered contestants the opportunity to bag up to £125,000 if they could successfully collaborate. The competition involved a team of five individuals attempting to complete various category lists of 10 items, with each participant taking turns to provide the correct responses.

However, speculation suggests there's no sign of the show reclaiming its slot after a two-year hiatus from filming. It appears ITV has held back episodes for broadcast in the forthcoming weeks but has no intention of shooting any new ones.

Furthermore, the production company hasn't recently issued any calls for fresh contestants.

A year prior to the cessation of the latest filming, Sally Lindsay stepped in to replace Warwick as the host. At the time, he explained his absence was due to his involvement in a project.

And despite more than 200 episodes, there are now plans to shelve the series, according to reports.

An ITV spokesperson said: "Tenable has been a much loved ITV game show since it launched in 2016. Whilst there are no brand new episodes currently planned, fans of the show can still watch over on ITVX."

Viewers expressed their disappointment on X as one penned: "If anyone is a fan of #Tenable, I bring you bad news. ITV have decided to axe the quiz show after being on the air for seven years. There are some episodes that have been filmed - but after that, future episodes will not be recorded."

"Shame because Warwick Davis is a great TV presenter for this. Hopefully, he gets on something else," a second tweeted.

"This is probably the best of the TV shows, shame," @a third added.

Before his stint on Tenable, Warwick had been cast as an Ewok extra in Star Wars and later took over the role of Wicket when Kenny Baker fell ill.

His acting career also includes a notable role as Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter films from 2001 to 2011. Besides portraying Flitwick, Warwick also played the goblin Griphook in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

The on-screen star announced the loss of his beloved wife, Samantha who sadly died this year at 53 years old.

Warwick shared his heartbreak, expressing: "Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs. She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes."

He fondly remembered Samantha as his "most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career". The couple's children, Harrison and Annabelle also honoured their mother, highlighting that her "love and happiness carried us through our whole lives".
