STRICTLY COME DANCING star Aston Merrygold has just been dealt a huge bombshell since discovering who his professional partner would be.

On Saturday night, the Strictly Come Dancing pairings were finally revealed with this year’s troupe unanimously leaping for joy with their respective couplings.
However, since Aston, 29, was buddied up with Janette Manrara, 33, bookmakers have shaken up the odds for victory with the JLS star’s lead above the rest of the pack slipping.
Alexandra Burke, 29, who famously beat Aston in the 2010 X Factor final, has seen her chances of lifting the Glitterball trophy rocket after she was teamed up with Gorka Marquez, 27.
“Aston Merrygold remains a fairly solid favourite at 11/4 but Alexandra Burke has been very popular since the pairings were revealed on Saturday,” Betway’s Alan Alger explained.

“Burke struggled to contain her excitement at landing Gorka Marquez and the punters were impressed too, backing her into 5/1 from 11/2 for the Glitterball Trophy.
“Mollie King, paired with AJ Pritchard, was a little nervy on Saturday night and her odds of being crowned Strictly champion have been eased out to 9/2 from 7/2.”
Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer, 54, is now firm favourite to bow out of the ballroom competition first with odds of 5/2 put against him to receive the unfavourable accolade.

“Susan Calman is next in the ‘first to go’ market at 10/3,” the bookmaker added.
The Strictly Come Dancing launch came with both cheers and tears over the weekend, as Tess Daly, 48, welled up over the show’s heartwarming tribute to Sir Bruce Forsyth.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 23.
