Zoe Ball is set for her much-anticipated BBC Radio 2 comeback after her enigmatic absence left fans bewildering over her whereabouts.

The veteran broadcaster, aged 53, has been conspicuously absent from her regular slot for a full five weeks, prompting listeners to question the sudden hiatus. However, signals are pointing to Zoe returning to the airwaves earlier than anticipated.

Back in August, she took a break intended for a brief period to commemorate what would have been her late mum's birthday, following her tragic death in April. Despite expectations of her August 5 return date, stand-in presenters continued to fill the spot.

In the wake of her mother's passing, Ball paid homage to her with an emotional social media post. She penned: "Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts. We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. Your grace and your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us."

BBC's online schedule brings positive news as it indicates Zoe's return for Monday, September 23, leading the Maximum Music Monday show. The accompanying description reads: "Wake up and embrace the day with Zoe Ball and the team. Zoe keeps the tunes rolling on Maximum Music Monday", reports the Mirror.

Viewers have noted the absence of Zoe Ball from her radio show, with Scott Mills and Gaby Roslin stepping in to fill her slot. Addressing concerns, Scott Mills has said: "Do not freak out, you have not overslept, if you've just put us on this morning, it's Scott Mills in for Zoe for the next few weeks. I'm sending you all my love Zo', as are the team."

While the exact reasons for Zoe's break remain undisclosed, fans have grown increasingly worried about the beloved presenter.

Concerned messages from fans include one saying, "What has happened to Zoe Ball? She's been off the Radio for 5 weeks in total - no mention of her whatsoever the last few weeks. I hope she's ok," and another simply stating, "I hope #ZoeBall is OK."

Amidst this mystery, queries have been directed at Zoe's son, Woody, who has so far offered no clarification regarding his mother's time off. Instead, Woody, who is 23, has used his online platform to share tips with aspiring DJs, encouraging them to record or livestream their sessions and posting on Instagram: "Calling DJ's from the bedroom to the stage. Want to record or livestream your sets? The Howler could be your answer! ! " However, followers are more curious about Zoe's well-being than his DJ advice.
