The BBC has commissioned a massive 204 episode order of Pointless and Pointless Celebrities from production company, Remarkable Television.
That means Alexander and co-host Richard Osman will be back, fronting 165 daytime and 39 primetime versions of the hit game show.
The former has spoken out about the upcoming episodes, saying: "I cannot tell you how much I adore hosting Pointless and I'm thrilled that the BBC commissioned us to produce over 200 more episodes.
"I cannot wait to meet a whole host of Pointless contenders and of course, be reunited with Richard who I've genuinely missed. But don't tell him that," the 47-year-old joked.

Richard added: "It is such a treat to be back behind my laptop to deliver a whole host of brand new Pointless facts and figures for our fantastic viewers.
"I'm especially delighted to be heading back to where it began for Xander and I at our original BBC TV Centre studio home."
This comes after Richard opened up about the future of Pointless, telling Express.co.uk that he would leave if Alexander quit.
"I think that he wouldn't leave… We do occasionally talk about how it might end, and it'd be nice if it did end with us both leaving together.
"We are loyal to each other and we talk about work loads and commitments, but we are very careful with Pointless and we do try to nurture it. It's given us an awful lot and we owe it a lot," the 46-year-old admitted.
The new series of Pointless starts this evening on BBC One at 5.15pm.
