The former marksman argued that although a broad response with varied resources is required, first and foremost, all police officers should be armed.
Tony began: "To me it's a health and safety issue. Police officers have to go into the unknown every day of the week.
"Every day in the capital they are dealing with the unknown, especially with knife attacks," he added.
As he appeared from a satellite broadcast from Nice, Tony referenced France's previous run of terror attacks, suggesting that the UK police force could learn from European forces.

However, Sue Hill said arming police is unnecessary
I told one of the officers who responded to the Nice attacks and he said, 'We think you're crazy'
He explained: "I told one of the officers who responded to the Nice attacks and he said, 'We think you're crazy'.
"It's insanity. You can't deal with suicide bombers with knives with plastic batons.
"Unfortunately that's how we're seen across the world," Tony added.
However, former Met detective, Sue Hill, argued that more armed police was unnecessary, suggesting that the nation should get behind the police force it has.
She exclaimed: "Stop whining and whinging about stop and search and about tasting someone. Let's get behind the force."
This comes after Met Commissioner Cressida Dick appeared on Good Morning Britain yesterday and admitted that "more officers would be great".
The commissioner suggested that the force needs to change "as the threat changes".
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10:30am.
