Father Brown: Season 12 Episode 1 promo trailer
Father Brown fans will see a very different side of one of their most beloved residents.
BBC cosy crime drama Father Brown sadly won’t be returning to our screens for season 14 until early 2027, leaving fans wondering what the cast will get up to in the meantime.
Now, as viewers wait for Father Brown to make a comeback, it’s been revealed that the star behind aristocratic socialite Lady Felicia Montague has got another major project lined up.
The Father Brown actress Nancy Carroll will star in the DC Universe sci-fi horror series Clayface, a well-established Batman comic book villain.
But this upcoming “body-horror” is far from the world of superheroes as it sees “rising Hollywood star Matt Hagen descend into a horrifying, revenge-filled monster when scientific ambition strips him of his identity and humanity”.

After the actor’s face is left brutally disfigured after being cut up by gangsters, he turns to an experimental procedure which goes horribly wrong, causing his face and body to melt.
While Father Brown’s Nancy Carroll has been listed as part of the cast of Clayface, her role in the film has not yet been revealed.
It is known, however, that she will be joined by Wolf King star Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, Handmaid’s Tale actor Max Minghella as John, and Whitney Houston biopic actress Naomi Ackie as biotech scientist Dr. Caitlyn Corr.
Other important cast members whose roles haven’t yet been announced include Prisoner actor Eddie Marsan and The Assassin star David Dencik.

There is now an end in sight for horror fans with Clayface ready to make its cinematic debut on Friday, October 23.
Unfortunately for Father Brown fans, they will have to wait a few months longer before the BBC cosy crime makes a comeback for series 14.
In the grand finale which aired earlier this year, the residents of Kembleford said goodbye to the beloved housekeeper Brenda Palmer (Ruby-May Martinwood).
She decided it was time for a fresh start and so Brenda took a new job as the parish secretary for Father Osmond Lindsey (Kieran Hodgson) but could she one day return?
Father Brown is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
