The ITV mystery drama is based on the Verlaque and Bonnet detective novels by M. L. Longworth and first aired in 2022.

It stars Roger Allam as Investigating Judge Antoine Verlaque opposite Nancy Carroll as Marine Bonnet, a criminal psychologist and Verlaque's love interest.

The story unfolds against the stunning backdrop of Aix-en-Provence in the south of France, where it was filmed on location, offering viewers the perfect opportunity to escape reality.

Each episode centres on a separate murder case, kicking off with a shocking killing at the local university. The pair frequently debates perplexing cases over dinner, with Marine drawing on her knowledge of criminal psychology to help resolve them. Despite its French backdrop, the programme is delivered entirely in English.
