EastEnders' legend Ian Beale, portrayed by actor Adam Woodyatt, has got fans buzzing with his secret.

The character's evasive actions this week, including taking covert phone calls, haven't gone unnoticed by his kin. Initially, Ian appeared reluctant to engage in conversation about his son Bobby's (Clay Milner Russell) impending 21st birthday festivity.

However, the intrigue ramped up during the episode released on iPlayer on Wednesday (July 10), as Ian received a cryptic text inquiring, "Can we meet tomorrow morning?" Challenged by Peter (Thomas Law) and Cindy (Michelle Collins), Ian hastily concocted a tale about his aspirations to pursue a seat as a local councillor again, leaving the duo perplexed.

Adding fuel to the fire, forthcoming spoilers indicate that Cindy and Peter will stumble upon Ian at a secretive cottage. Subsequent to their unexpected encounter, Ian discloses a staggering revelation to Cindy, though this secret is still under wraps from the audience.

Despite the lack of concrete information, fans have been busy piecing together their own guesses as to what Ian's news could entail, with many suspecting it could be to do with the comeback of Ian's former spouse Jane (Lorie Brett).

Nevertheless, a faction of eagle-eyed viewers have spun a different yarn that could signal the homecoming of a different EastEnders icon, diverging from the anticipated Jane narrative, reports the Daily Star.

Speculation has been rife on social media about who the mystery collaborator could be, with many EastEnders fans betting on Cindy's estranged daughter. One viewer expounded on Twitter: "I'm convinced the person Ian is calling is Cindy Jnr."

Another chimed in: "I reckon this mystery person ian is texting will be cindy jr."

On Reddit, discussions took a creative turn: "Everyone's thinking Jane, so I'll throw a wee curveball; Cindy JR. He's tryna bring her back so he can be the hero and feel closer to Cindy."

Mimi Keene won viewers over as the rebellious teenager Cindy Jr., embodying the offspring of iconic Walford figure Cindy.

During her notable but brief spell on the show, Cindy Jr. was embroiled in the unforgettable 'Who killed Lucy Beale?' plotline and notably had her daughter Beth while on the run.

Cindy's chapter closed on the Square in August 2015 when she departed for Germany, accompanied by Liam Butcher (played by James Forde) and his father Ricky (Sid Owen).
