Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch co-star in the first trailer for Sky’s upcoming reimagining of the 1973 crime film The Day of the Jackal.

The thrilling first look was released on Saturday and promises a captivating 10-part drama thriller fans won’t want to miss.

Based on the original film starring Edward Fox, the reimagining updates the story into a modern-day pursuit across Europe.

A synopsis reads: “An unrivalled and highly elusive lone assassin, the Jackal, (Eddie Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee.

“But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.”

Eddie’s co-star Lashana is no stranger to espionage, having starred as the new 007 agent Nomi in Daniel Craig’s final James Bond film, No Time To Die.

Other familiar faces in the cast include Money Heist’s breakout Spanish star Úrsula Corberó, Game of Thrones veterans Charles Dance and Richard Dormer, and The Walking Dead’s Eleanor Matsuura.

Plus, this adaptation is surely in safe hands as Ronan Bennett, creator of the critically acclaimed Netflix series Top Boy, is penning the scripts.
